Approval Process Update (February 2021)

This week, both the Collingwood Heritage Conservation District and Site Plan Design Adjustment Committees unanimously voted to support the Hume Innovation Hub facility.

Next, our project team looks forward for site plan approval/registration which will enable us to help our local economy in a post-pandemic world.

Finally, the Town Planning staff report excerpt below was appreciated after constructive consultations over the past year. Thank-you!

“The Hume Street corridor is in a period of transition. The subject property (and formerly a brownfield site) is currently vacant and presents a unique opportunity to establish a new gateway and to function as a transition between the Mixed Use Commercial area to the south and east and the Downtown Core, including the Collingwood Heritage Conservation District, to the west and north. As a result of the extensive urban design review process, it is the opinion of Planning Services that the proposed development contributes to the visual improvement and appearance of the Downtown Core.”
